Way Kanan — Pengurus Ikatan Wartawan Online(IWO) Kabupaten Way Kanan resmi dilantik Ketua IWO Provinsi Lampung Wawan Setiawan di Gedung Serba Guna (GSG), Way Kanan, Lampung, Selasa, (25/9/2018).

Pada acara tersebut, Ketua IWO Lampung Wawan Setiawan membacakan Surat Keputusan(SK) dan menyerahkan Pataka IWO kepada Ketua IWO Kabupaten Way Kanan Fito Aliestiadi.

Kegiatan ini dihadiri Bupati Way Kanan Raden Adipati Surya, unsur Forkopimda diantaranya Kapolres AKBP Doni Wahyudi, Ketua DPRD Imam Karim, mewakili Dandim, Kepala Dinas, Kepala Badan, Camat, para Ketua OKP setempat, pengurus partai dan tamu undangan lainnya.

Sekretaris DPP IWO, Edward Panggabean berharap, kehadiran IWO di Kabupaten Way Kanan dapat berlaku adil ditengah masyarakat, dan bekerjasama dengan stakeholder serta membantu pemerintah dalam pembangunan daerah, sekaligus mengawal setiap kebijakan pemerintah.

“Sesuai tema kita hari ini menjadikan wartawan yang profesional, berkompeten, jujur dan anti hoax. Karena itu dalam menyajikan berita sesuai fakta dan tidak menciptakan isu tanpa bukti,” kata Edward.

Edward juga menyampaikan pesan Ketua Umum IWO, Jodhi Yudono yang meminta seluruh anggota IWO menegakkan profesionalisme dengan cara menegakkan independensi dan tidak terlibat dalam kepentingan politik mana pun.

“Keberpihakan kita hanya kepada kebenaran melalui pengujian data, verifikasi, cover both side. Bagi, mereka yang menjadi caleg, segeralah ambil cuti untuk sementara waktu atau mundur secara permanen,” ucap dia mengutip pesan Ketum IWO.

Edward juga menghimbau seluruh pengurus di seluruh wilayah Indonesia untuk segera melengkapi data-data yang dibutuhkan untuk verifikasi IWO ke Dewan Pers. Untuk tahap awal IWO harus memiliki Kartu Anggota IWO yang dikeluarkan oleh PP IWO.

Sementara itu Bupati Way Kanan, Raden Adipati Surya mengapresiasi kehadiran IWO di kabupaten yang bersemboyan Ramik Ragom ini.

“Selamat terhadap pengurus IWO yang sudah dilantik. Pemkab Way Kanan menyambut baik atas terbentuknya kepengurusan ini,” ujarnya.

Bupati berharap kehadiran organisasi IWO di kabupaten yang diresmikan 19 tahun silam pada 27 April 1999 bisa dijadikan wadah untuk bersilaturahmi dan menampung aspirasi sesama wartawan dalam melaksanakan tugasnya.

“Media online sangat membantu sekali dalam menyebarkan informasi, dari Sabang sampai Merauke sudah bisa mengakses dengan jari jemari,” ujar dia.

Kata Bupati, kini masyarakat dapat melihat surat kabar maupun majalah melalui situs-situs web dalam bentuk digital. Bahkan, masyarakat di seluruh dunia yang terhubung dengan jaringan internet akan mudah untuk membacanya.

“Kini media online sudah merambah hingga pelosok kampung dan masyarakat bisa menikmati informasi yang disajikan para jurnalis,” ucap dia.

Dia mengaku merasa terbantu dengan hadirnya media-media online, dimana dia tidak perlu lagi membuka lembaran-lembaran besar untuk membaca berita, selain itu juga media online ini lebih cepat dalam menyebarkan informasi.

“Saya terbantu dengan wartawan online, salah satunya adanya pemberitaan seorang pelajar di Way Kanan yang menderita penyakit tulang punggung bengkok hampir 180 derajat, kini tinggal 67 derajat. Itu informasi dari kawan wartawan online. Kami tadinya tidak mengetahui. Karena itu hadirnya organisasi ini kami support,” tegas dia.

Untuk diketahui pelajar yang menderita tulang bengkok itu adalah Herlina Fitri (18), warga Kampung Way Tuba, Kecamatan Gununglabuhan, Kabupaten Way Kanan yang menderita penyakit Scoliosis atau tulang punggung bengkok. Kini tulangnya sudah nyaris lurus dan sedang tahap menunggu operasi selanjutnya.
