Ketum IWO: Jaga Akal Sehat, Wartawan Harus Banyak Membaca

Bekasi, Jawa Barat — Agar akal sehat tetap terjaga, Ketua Umum Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO) Jodhi Yudono ajak wartawan yang tergabung dalam IWO untuk banyak membaca. Hal itu disampaikan saat menghadiri pelatihan jurnalistik dan Sosialisasi Perlindungan Hukum Bagi Wartawan yang dilaksanakan oleh IWO Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat.

Pelatihan dan Sosialisasi Hukum bagi wartawan tersebut tidak hanya diikuti oleh IWO Kabupaten Bekasi saja, tapi diikuti oleh IWO beberapa daerah di sekitar Jabodetabek.

“Kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh kawan-kawan IWO Kabupaten Bekasi ini bisa menjadi pemicu bagi IWO di seluruh Indonesia. Sehingga melalui kegiatan ini bisa menjadi manfaat bagi semua rekan-rekan semua, tidak hanya bagi IWO di Kab Bekasi, tapi juga bagi kawan-kawan IWO seluruh Indonesia,” kata Jodhi saat membuka Pelatihan Jurnalistik di Batiqa Hotel Jababeka, Cikarang, Bekasi, Jawa Barat, Selasa (17/4/2018).

Dia menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan seperti ini bagian dari merawat akal sehat kita agar tetap terjaga. Untuk menjaga akal sehat itu dia meminta kepada wartawan yang tergabung dalam IWO untuk banyak membaca.

“Banyak cara untuk membaca, melihat suatu peristiwa juga membaca. Dengan banyak membaca, menulis pun mudah dan enak dibaca. Modal wartawan itu harus selalu ingin tahu. Kalau naluri ini sudah tak ada, maka siap-siaplah pensiun jadi wartawan,” ucap dia.

Jodhi menambahkan, IWO didirikan untuk mempererat persahabatan di antara wartawan online dan juga memperluas jaringan. Menurutnya, dua modal ini menjadi penting di zaman sekarang yang sedang kalang kabut ini.

“Untuk menghadapi situasi zaman yang gonjang ganjing saat, maka kawan-kawan IWO harus saling bergandengan tangan dan saling mendukung,” ucap Jodhi.

Dia menekankan bahwa wartawan adalah Wacthdog atau anjing penjaga. Sebagai penjaga musuhnya banyak.

“Nah, yang menjadi pertanyaan adalah siapa musuh-musuh kita? Musuh-musuh kita ya maling-maling itu, orang-orang jahat itu. Mereka yang hendak merusak bangsa dan negara kita. Tugas kita adalah menghardik mereka sekencang-kencangnya agar semua orang bangun dan mendapatkan kesadarannya kembali bahwa ada orang jahat,” ucap dia.

Namun, karena orang-orang jahat itu biasanya memiliki banyak duit, punya kekuasaan dan bisa memengaruhi hukum, akhirnya, banyak wartawan dibawa ke ranah pidana, apalagi ada UU No. 11 Tahun 2008 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE), dan penegak hukum kerap mengabaikan UU Pers No. 40 tahun 1999.

Sementara Ketua Panitia Pelaksana, Himawan Abror mengatakan dalam kegiatan ini, selain materi jurnalistik, dalam pelatihan para peserta juga akan diajak untuk memperdalam berbagai peraturan perundangan  yang berkaitan dengan perlindungan terhadap para pewarta dalam menjalankan kegiatan jurnalistik, seperti UU Pers, Kode Etik Jurnalistik, UU ITE dan peran Dewan Pers.

Hadir dalam kegiatan ini sebagai pembicara adalah dari Kasubnit II Krimsus Polres Metro Bekasi Iptu Rochmadi SH, Ketua Bidang Advokasi dan Hukum IWO, Dr. Ibnu Mazjah, SH, MH, Kasubag Humas Pemkab Bekasi Drs. Rhamdan Nurul Ikhsan dan praktisi media/Eks Wartawan Grup Jawa Pos Deni Ahmad Furqon.
