Resmi Dilantik, IWO Kabupaten Asahan-Batubara Komitmen Tolak Berita Hoax

KISARAN — Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO) Kabupaten Asahan dan Batubara, berkomitmen melawan dan  menolak berita hoax, isu sara, dan menebar kebencian. Ketua terpilih Syafruddin Yusuf,  menyampaikan, pada dasarnya IWO dibentuk untuk mempersatukan wartawan media online yang ada di wilayah Kabupaten Asahan dan Batubara, dalam satu organisasi.

Kedepannya, IWO akan berusaha menjalin kerjasama kepada seluruh stakeholder yang ada di Pemkab Asahan-Batubara, dalam hal pemberitaan yang berimbang. “IWO akan meningkatkan kualitas rekan-rekan wartawan dalam masalah pemberitaan sesuai UU Pers dan kode etik pers. IWO Asahan dan Batubara, berkomitmen menolak berita Hoax, sara, dan menebar kebencian,” kata Syafruddin Yusuf, saat memberikan kata sambutan di acara pelantikan IWO Asahan dan Batubara masa bakti 2018-2023 yang digelar di Kota Kisaran, Selasa (9/10/2018) sore. 

Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Bupati Kabupaten Asahan Taufan Gama Simatupang yang diwakili Kadis Kominfo RH Siregar menyambut hangat visi-misi IWO Kabupaten Asahan dan Batubara yang baru saja dilantik.

Dia berharap dengan terbentuknya IWO, kerjasama jurnalis dengan Pemkab Asahan dalam hal pemberitaan dapat terus terjalin dengan baik. 

“Kami berharap kepada pengurus IWO yang baru dilantik bisa bekerjasama dan sama-sama bekerja dengan Pemkab Asahan, secara profesional di bidang jurnalistik. Untuk itu kami berharap kepada rekan-rekan dalam menyajikan  pemberitaan haruslah berimbang, sumbernya jelas, dan fakta,” ungkap Siregar. 

Hal senada juga diungkapkap Kapolres Asahan Yemmi Mandagi melalui Kapolsek Asahan Kota Iptu Rianto. Menurutnya, dengan hadirnya IWO, diharapkan perang terhadap segala bentuk hoax yang digencarkan Polri bisa lebih efektif.

“Syukur Alhamdulillah atas pelantikan kepengurusan IWO Asahan dan Batubara ini. Kami dari pihak kepolisian tentu sangat berharap, IWO turut berperan serta bersama-sama kami untuk memerangi segala bentuk hoax. Sehingga setiap berita yang dihasilkan lebih kredibel, layak dipercaya, informatif dan menjadi sarana edukasi bagi khalayak” tandasnya.

Sementara Ketua IWO Sumut Mei Leandha yang hadir dan melantik ketua dan pengurus IWO Asahan dan Batubara berharap, IWO akan menjadi organisasi wartawan yang masih menjaga ruh jurnalisme. Memanfaatkan tugas dan fungsinya menjadi wakil masyarakat dengan edukasi. 

“Menghasilkan berita-berita yang berimbang, tidak bohong dengan melakukan cek dan ricek. Dan jangan lupa untuk konfirmasi dengan sumber-sumber yang jelas,”

Sesuai AD/ART, kata Mei, IWO akan memberikan sangsi tegas kepada para anggota yang tidak menjalankan fungsi sesuai amanah organisasi, tugas serta fungai pers. 

“Saya berharap kepada para pengurus untuk mematuhi peraturan ini dalam memproduksi karya jurnalistiknya,” akhirnya.
