Jakarta — Masa Depan Wartawan di Era Industri 4.0; menjadi tema Rapat Kerja Nasional (Rakernas) Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO) yang akan digelar di Depok, Bogor, Jawa Barat, tanggal 11 dan 12 Maret 2019.

Melalui Rakernas pertama ini Ketua Umum IWO Jodhi Yudono mengungkapkan, lembaga profesi wartawan ini kembali membuktikan bahwa tanpa bersandar pada siapa pun IWO mampu melaksanakan pekerjaan besar, sebagaimana saat IWO menyelenggarakan Musyawarah Bersama (Mubes) pada 8 – 9 September tahun 2017 di Jakarta.

“Itu artinya, kita bisa dan akan tetap menjaga independensi selaku wartawan. Kita tak punya utang budi kepada pihak mana pun yang akan mendikte kita. Sehingga kita akan tetap menjaga kemerdekaan pikiran dan tulisan kita, sesuai dengan nurani demi kepentingan masyarakat,” papar Jodhi, Kamis (7/3/2019).

Menurutnya, Konsekewansi yang harus kita hadapi memang jadi lebih berat, tapi justru membuat kita jadi lebih kuat. Biaya yang cukup besar untuk melaksanakan acara ini kita pikul bersama, mulai dari penyelenggaraan acara hingga biaya transportasi kawan-kawan dari Aceh hingga Papua.

“Saya kira kita sepakat, Rakernas adalah sebuah upaya untuk menetapkan rencana kerja kita selama setahun ke depan, sebagai penunjuk arah jalan yang akan kita tempuh untuk menghadapi tantangan zaman yanag bergerak sangat cepat ini,” unfkap Jodhi.

Itulah sebabnya lanjut Jodhi, selain segera mendaftar sebagai konstituen Dewan Pers, kita juga harus membuka lebar-lebar cakrawala berpikir kita seiring dengan denyut kencang gaung revolusi industri 4.0 yang sedang melanda dunia saat ini. Mengambil momentum tersebut, Rakernas kita pun mengusung tema “Masa Depan Wartawan di Era Industri 4.0”.

“Rakernas ini juga sebagai ajang silaturahim untuk kian mempererat persaudaraan serta saling menguatkan di antara kita. Semoga Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa senantiasa membimbing dan melindungi sehingga rakernas ini lancar dan bermanfaat bagi kita dan masyarakat Indonesia,” ungkap jurnalis senior kompas.com ini. (Red)
