Ketua Umum IWO: “Wujudkan Pilkada Damai, Jadilah Penulis Berkualitas”

Ternate, Maluku Utara – Ketua Umum Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO, Jodhi Yudhono mengajak seluruh Wartawan yang telah bergabung dalam organisasi IWO untuk lebih profesional mencari, mengumpulkan data secara valid dan benar agar berita yang dipublikasikan dapat dipertanggubgjawabkan.

Apalagi saat menghadapi Pilkada, anggota yang tergabung dalam IWO diharapkan  tampil profesional di tengah pusaran Pilkada dan berita hoax. Maka dibutuhkan media dan Jurnalis independen.

Pasalnya media sebagai penyampai pesan dan penyampai berita diminta mampu menyediakan informasi dengan berita-berita yang benar-benar valid dan terverifikasi.

Demikian ditegaskan Ketua Umum IWO Jodhi Yudono dalam Diskusi Publik bertema ” Media di Tengah Pusaran Pilkada dan Berita Hoax”, yang digelar IWO Kota Ternate, di Dhuafa Center Ternate, Maluku Utara, Minggu (1/4/2018).

Menurut Ketua Umum IWO, Penulis yang baik adalah pembaca yang baik. Terkait hal itu, kata Jodhi, rekan-rekan jurnalis harus banyak membaca sehingga tulisannya berkualitas.

Kesempatan yang sama, narasumber Kapolres Ternate AKBP Azhari Juanda, SiK mengatakan di tengah pusaran Pilkada dan Berita Hoax maka media harus berada pada posisi netral dan harus bertindak secara profesional.

Kapolres Ternate berpesan, media harus menjaga integritasnya sehingga tidak terjerumus ke dalam pusaran Pilkada. Dalam arti tidak menjadi alat politik dari pasangan calon Partai politik tertentu.

“Jangan terjebak dalam pusaran berita-berita hoax (menjadi bagian pembuat atau penyebar berita hoax),” ucap Azhari.

Kapolres  juga menekankan media harus menjadi penyejuk suasana dengan memberitakan informasi yang berimbang dan tidak mengandung unsur provokatif.

“Kita berharap media berperan aktif dalam rangka menekan atau meminimalisir penyebaran berita hoax di media sosial,” pintahnya

Sementara, Pemerhati Komunikasi dari Universitas Bung Karno, Arman Panigfat, mengatakan berita hoax merupakan berita yang tidak bertanggung jawab.

“Hal ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh karakter atau budaya masyarakat kita latah dan senang sebarkan berita-berita itu. Padahal dia sendiri tidak tau apa isinya berita tersebut”, ujarnya.

Arman menilai, masyarakat kekinian kerap sekedar ikut-ikutan, menyebar berita-berita yang mengandung hoax tersebut, apalagi di saat masyarakat sedang salam era euforia medsos.

“Peran media sebagai pencerah masyarakat dituntut mampu memberikan pendidikan berpolitik yang baik serta menjadi penerima berita yang bijak melalui pemberitaan berkulitas,” ucapnya

“Profesioanalisme penulis sudah diatur, tinggal kita pedomani dan patuhi saja, rekan-rekan IWO punya tanggung jawab mendidik masyarakat dalam berpolitik yang baik dan pengguna media sosial yang bijak”, pesan Arman.

Selain itu, tambah Arman, peran media haruslah independen dalam Pilkada serta menolak dengan keras berita hoax maupun isu SARA.

“Jurnalis harus cerdas menanggapi berita hoax yang beredar di media sosial dan menjadi penetralisir suasana. Selain itu, media harus mendukung upaya Polri memerangi hoax,” ucap pengajar Ilmu Komunikasi di Universitas tersebut.

Sedangkan, Ketua IWO Provinsi Maluku Utara Rahman Mustafa menilai munculnya berita hoax sejak beberapa tahun ini telah mempengaruhi kehidupan sosial masyarakat Indonesia saat ini.

“Masyarakat kita lebih senang dengan berita-berita heboh, tanpa sadar ikut-ikutan menyebarkannya,” ujar Rahman.

Karenanya, Media punya peran penting untuk memberitakan berita yang berimbang. Apalagi,  moment Pilkada seperti ini isu-isu hoax sangat berkembang, sehingga untuk mengimbangi itu maka media harus menjadi sarana sebagai kontrol.

“Di situlah peran IWO ambil bagian dengan mengedepankan independensi. IWO harus komitmen menolak hoax. Apalagi, Pengurus Pusat IWO sudah mengeluarkan kebijakan  IWO tidak boleh terlibat dalam politik”, tutup Rahman, dalam diskusi yang dimediatori  Ketua IWO Kota Ternate, Budiman L Mayabubun.
